Global Business Trip – July 2010

Fundacion Banesto’s Global Business Trip of July 2010 was a highlight for StepOne. This trip brought together two groups of individuals: established business people from the well developed Basque Country, and young promising Spanish entrepreneurs involved in the Yuzz Program. Both parties were eager to learn, gain in experience and expand their horizons, and it was great to see entrepreneurs both young and old realize what Silicon Valley has to offer.

Highlights from the GBT Euskadi trip included visits to Google in Mountain View and HP in Cupertino. StepOne worked first hand on identifying strategic partners for participating companies whose business objectives ranged from understanding new trends to trying to introduce new products in Europe. Participating companies included Sustainable Reference, Proyelia, Agotek, Ibercom, NEM Solutions, Anboto, J1CK Mobile, VirtualWare, S21Sec, Avalon Technologies, Bubok, MG Media, and Nextel.

The GBT Yuzz featured a week long list of activies starting with Google and Apple, a scavenger hunt around the SOMA area of San Francisco, an innovation session with Innovalley, and a soccer friendly plus BBQ with friends from Stanford University. We thoroughly enjoyed working with both groups this time around, and look forward to developments and achievements from all participating spanish entrepreneurs.
