Upcoming Trip for Young Spanish Entrepreneurs
Yuzz is project started by Fundacion Banesto aimed at fostering young entrepreneurship in Spain.
The latest program has selected some of the brightest entrepreneurs from Madrid and Barcelona and will be bringing them on a trip to Silicon Valley in July 2010. StepOne is excited to be participating in this program. A session was given this last week preparing Yuzz for what to expect see and potentially learn from in the technology capital of the world. A pitch competition was organized as well where all participants shared their ideas and businesses. It was a chance to recognize first hand the value of these kinds of programs, and the level of entrepreneurial talent Spain has to offer. A bright future is ahead.
Congratulations to the winners of the pitch competition: Rebeca Sánchez, Carlos Villaumbrosia and Álvaro Sanmartín. These finalists were selected by their own peers based on their idea, pitch, delivery, and defending themselves against a rigorous battering of questions delivered by our StepOne team.
We are looking forward to the upcoming trip in a few weeks and we have a number of very fun and interesting activities planned. One of which will place a Spanish futbol against an American soccer team in a competitive “networking” event at Stanford University. The World Champion Spanish are evenly matched by their US counterparts! For all updates, please follow the hashtag #GBTyuzz.
